Special Projects
On July 30th, 2016 Ellicott City
was devastated by a flash flood after nearly 7 inches of rain fell in less than two hours.
The Sunrise Rotary Club raised $10,000 for the Ellicott City Partnership in order to help residents and business owners

The Howard County Diaper Project recently made a presentation to the club and explained one of the most pressing needs at the HoCo Food Bank is diapers. On April 27th, 2019 the Sunrisers stepped up again. Over 50 boxes of diapers were donated by the club to the HCDP. Special thanks to John Halt for his generosity.
On December 7th, 2018 the Sunrisers raised $1000 for Shelter Box USA.
$1000 = 1 shelter box. This is an organization that provides emergency shelter and tools for displaced families. Nearly 85 million people around the world have been displaced by natural disaster and conflict. Shelter Box USA is working to change this.
In late July '17, the Howard County Food Bank sent out notice that their food supplies were very low. The Sunrisers stepped up and bought $450 of food that was delivered on 8/03. Way to go!
On December 1st, 2017, the Sunrisers raised funds to help Nigerian children in need. The effort raised $1000 for solar lights for children. Why? A majority of homes in many Nigerian communities don't have electricity. The lights afford the children to read / do homework activities in the evening.
$1000 = 100 lights!
