The Sunrise Rotary Club was instrumental in raising money to endow the Faculty Lounge in the Howard Community College Health Sciences Complex.

In 2011, Sunrise Rotary helped launch and will continue to support the Paul R. Willging Endowment. Paul Willging, who was a Sunrise Rotary member for many years, died of cancer in 2011.  In his memory, and to continue his legacy of a career dedicated to ensuring high quality health care for the older adult, an endowment was established to provide both student scholarship support and an annual speaker series. The endowment has been put in place in coordination with the Howard Community College (HCC) Educational Foundation.

Scholarships are awarded each school semester to students pursuing studies in gerontology and long term care at HCC.  This year's Endowment sponsored lecture will be held in the Lecture Hall of the HCC Health Sciences Building.  This year's presentation will be delivered on October 7 by Dr. Eric De Jonge, the co-founder of the Medical House Call Program at the Washington Hospital Center.
